Each year, The American Working Dog Federation engages in many national and international working dog programs, including, attending FCI meetings in Europe, lobbying for the working dog in current dog legislation in American states and sending its members to international working dog competitions.

It also holds a national championship for competition among its members and qualification for the American team to compete in the FCI World Working Dog Championship, a truly world class event.
