Dateline: Rancho Splendido, California. The annual Combined Canine Conformation and Flower Show, held annually, was thrown into chaos today when it was discovered that Best of Breed was awarded to a flower arrangement submitted by Feodor Beatitude, a local horticulturist noted for her “hot pink” arrangements. The show officials attempted to cover up the mistake, but had to go public when one of the dog entrants refused to give back the first place ribbon that her Bechon Frisé won for best formal table arrangement. One of the conformation judges commented that, at the time, he thought Tuberous Begonia was a strange name for a dog.
