THE SIRIUS TRAINER TOUCH STICK

The touch stick is widely used today in obedience and agility training. It's sole purpose is to act as an extension of the trainer's arm; if we could extend our own arm by 24 inches, there would be no need for it.

It can be used to guide a dog during heeling, sits and downs or in precision agility work where a target is often needed in addition to guidance.

The Sirius Trainer Touch Stick is 24 inches long and made of machine grade, clear (the dog is not so aware of it) polycarbonate rod. This is the strongest clear material made with no brittleness and it is nearly indestructible. It has a soft handle on one end.

The other end is what makes it so unique: a 1½ inch ball on the touch end concentrates any pop or touch on a 1 inch area, giving better direction and guidance. The ½ inch rod is flexible enough to allow a subtle pop for a correction and stiff enough to guide a dog. Or the rod can be reversed so that the handle acts as a conventional touch stick while the ball end, held in the hand, acts as a stop for the hand during the work.
